Most Important Aspect Of Management is Managing Yourself

Management Tips

As people and manager, we tend to focus on everyone else and forget about managing ourselves. How others live, how they thrive, how they fail, are all aspects we follow. Learning from other people is a notable strategy for survival. This is normal behavior. But it needs to be improved for managers when they are responsible for the management of company employees and corporate resources.
When we are put in charge of large groups and projects, as managers, that human instinct transfers over nicely. We need to manage people and often times, focusing on other people comes naturally. Clearly, not everyone is good at the actual “management’ portion of the detail, which are the main responsibilities of managers, but they do tend to do a good job focusing on what other people are doing.
Lost in all of this is our own self. We often times focus so deeply on what others are doing, on managing others, that we forget that we should also focus on ourselves. Our own self-management is an essential item. How we conduct our business and organize our task can have a rippling effect throughout our own employees. Remember, the biggest key to successful management is leading by example. You don’t want to get caught up in just telling others what to do.

So how can we, as managers, self-manage ourselves better?

Ask yourself how you could contribute to expediting a project. Maybe you’ve put in a big project for a new webpage design. Everyone is about to get assigned tasks by you. But maybe you should think about a task or two, as simple as they might be, that could help the process. You’re a serene manager, it is understood that you can’t spend your day attempting to design a logo, but maybe a small item or two could go a long way in helping the project along. For example, downloading images that reflect the ideas for potential design concepts. Maybe you write up some text and send it to the copywriter as “hey I just thought I’d take a stab to help you out, fix it up or write it how you see fit.” This gives you an active presence in the project. It shows leadership and an ability to own something. Employees will often times respect that.
Make sure you organize your follow-ups. There is nothing worse than a manager that randomly walks around departments checking up on what’s done. No one likes unexpected visitors. When you first assign the project, scope out specific times which you will be following up to see progress. Give the teams an idea of what type of progress you might like to see. This will not be interpreted as micro-managing, the employees will actually enjoy seeing what’s expected of them.
Consistently meet with team members. You should always be aware of what’s going on with your team members. Have weekly or biweekly meetings, even if those meetings turn slightly personal in the topic. Keeping your finger on the pulse means more production. You might learn that an employee has a personal issue which is contributing to slower work output and it might be something you can help with. Or you might learn an employee is frustrated by another team member, in which case you are placed in a position to help out.
Managers manage yourself. Be proactive. Have a plan.

How Check Issuing Can Help You Manage Your Checking

Check Issuing is here to help. No, I mean it, that’s really what we do: help small business, like yours, continue to thrive. I’m not saying we are sitting on our throne of greatness as a core competency of your business which will lead you down the path of eternal success.
Not at all…
Instead, I am saying that when you use a verified check writing service, such as Check Issuing, by being one of the best outsource payroll companies, you free up time for the things that really matter in your business. You don’t hassle with things which a third-party check disbursement company, such as ours, can provide at a safer, higher quality, more affordable rate.
So what can we do?
We have the ability to protect your business from check fraud. Check fraud costs our country billions of dollars every year. Most people and businesses which fall victim to check fraud do so only because they never paid attention to the risks. Check fraud is highly lucrative for criminals, hence, why they keep coming back for more. It’s also one of the easier thefts for these criminals.
When you use Check Issuing, we make sure your checks go out in the most secure envelopes on earth. We also have logic which assures that bank tellers can verify that your checks aren’t in a criminal’s hands when they present at the bank. This also leads to more sleep for you! Ask for a Quickbooks payroll demo.
We can brand your checks with your company’s logo. Checks should look professional. Whoever you pay should know that your company is top-notch. Having a brandless check wreaks of unprofessional. Put your company’s logo on your check cleanly and easily using our service. When someone opens an envelope with your check in it, let it be a reminder to them that your company is bad to the bone!
We allow your company to send out memorandums, communications, pamphlets (I have a thousand other words for this, but I’ll spare you). Think of all the times you want to communicate thoughts, events, changes and updates and new deals to your customers and clients, but they refused to open emails and never answered the phone! You can be 100 percent certain that they will open a check with their name on it. Setting this up with Check Issuing is easy as pie!
You have choices. We know this. Our business is based on long-term relationships (see our reviews)! Give us a call today and let’s talk.

Why Check Disbursement Matters (A Lot)

Writing checks isn’t something we think of in a glorified fashion. When most of us think of check writing, we think of the little old lady in the grocery store holding up the express line writing one. All we can think is, why doesn’t her bank give her a debit card? They probably did, but the little old lady just loves her checks. You don’t have to love checks the same way she does in order to understand the importance of them to your company, though.
Checks aren’t dying. They aren’t prehistoric. And they aren’t just a weapon for the mass destruction of grocery store lines. The widely used, super professional, stable and relevant ways to pay for things. We pay rent, utilities, contractors, our tax people, all with checks. But we often forget just how important and relevant that checks are.
Your company has to write checks, so overlooking their value serves you poorly. First and foremost, not taking checks seriously can lead to checking fraud, one of the most widely committed types of crimes in the world. Criminals know that checks are relevant, viable forms of payment for businesses around the world (they are literally banking on it). When you handle checks yourself because you feel that they aren’t a “big deal,” you are taking a huge risk. When you allow Checkissuing employees to handle your check writing service, you protect yourself from fraud. Our checks are verified at the bank level to prevent fraud. Our envelopes can’t be seen through. Check Issuing has your business covered and for a nominal fee.
The little old lady loves her checks because she is able to get them in a pretty lavender color with stars. Maybe your business should share her sentiment? I’m not saying you should “pretty up your checks,” but I am saying you should consider making them look professional. Remember, checks are money and money should be sealed in the confines of a professional vessel, for lack of a better word. Check Issuing allows you to brand your checks with your company’s logo. While it might seem like such a small item, it actually plays out in a rather large way. Having your brand on your company’s checks separates your company from the small fish. It conveys a message of success to clients. And with Check Issuing, it is a simple, easy part of our service that we do for no extra charge.
Check Issuing can also insert or disseminate memorandums and messaging to your check receivers. Nothing like delivering company news alongside money, right? I couldn’t think of a better time.
Outsourcing portions of your company make sense. It allows you to focus on the clients, the products and the services that made you who you are today. It protects you from suffering any preventable losses due to check fraud. It cleans up your brand.
